2010 Club Challenge

Welcome to the home page of the 2010 Club Challenge which is the internal competition being run alongside the DSLR User magazine competition. The 2010 Club Challenge will be run over the same 'set subject' rounds as the external competition and will culminate with an overall Club Challenge winner at the end of the year.

Competition Outline

• Each month the subject will be set to coincide with the DSLRU subject.
• Members will are invited to submit up to 2 digital images for each round, and they will be loaded onto a web gallery but no names or titles will be shown.
• There are NO restrictions on using images we have seen before - this competition is looking for the best you have.
• Members will vote for each image (1-5 scoring) to determine the top performing images each month – again the votes will be anonymous.
• Points will be awarded once the voting is complete - 20 points for the winner, down to 1 point for the 20th place
• The member with the highest number of points over the year will be awarded a cup and declared the annual Club Challenge winner.

Entries in this competition will provide the majority of the 3 entries for the DSLRU competition each month but they may not necessarily be the 3 top scoring images.

How to Enter

• Resize images to the usual 1400x1050 format (1400 wide by 1050 high).
• Save as Jpeg
• Ensure your name and a brief title make up the file name.
• Send up to 2 images to smundy@purple-cloud.com.

How to Vote

• Go to the 2010 Club Challenge gallery.
• It is open to all to view but to vote you need to register with the site - the register option is at the top right of the page.
• IMPORTANT - You will receive a confirmation email once you have completed the registration form. You NEED to click on the confirmation link to complete the registration process before you can login to the site.
• Once registered you need to login to see the full size images and to be able to vote - the login option is at the top right of the page.
• Select the relevant round of the competition and double-click in order to see the thumbnails of the entries.
• Double click on any thumbnail to see a larger version, and there is also a drop down box at the top with options for slightly larger versions if you have a high resolution monitor (or double-click the image again).
• To score you simply highlight the number of stars (1-5) you wish to give an image, either on the thumbnail or the larger image
• Please score ALL images
• You can change your score as often as you wish without causing a problem.
• Once votes have been registered they will cumulatively show against the image in red with your vote overlaid in yellow.
• It is assumed that everyone will score their own images and award them the maximum.

• Round 4 - Macro - Entries close 20 June
• Round 5 - Wildlife - Entries close mid July
• Round 6 - Sport/Action - Entries close mid Aug
• Round 7 - Abstract
• Round 8 - Black and White
• Round 9 - Architecture
