Bisham Wood
Rod recommended that I go find the pond in the woods opposite where I live. So I took up the challange because apparently the pond is tricky to find.
In short, the best way to find it is drive out of Maidenhead along the Furze Platte Rd towards Marlow. As you pass the Lemon Tree and go around the corners there you shortly start descending the Bisham Hill to the roundabout at the bottom. Well, whilst still close to the top of this quite lengthy hill there is a dirt track off to the right. Take this and park up as their is a gate first right up this track that you walk along. The pond is just along there on the left.
I went along on a June evening so the light was low and the mosquito's were out in force. I also started out back by the lemon tree pub and walked along the tracks.
The pond is very tranquil, and has a heavy covering of weed and some ducks and plenty of overhanging shrubs and trees.
This wood is very peacefull. I only met one jogger in the two hours that I was there. There are very good tracks to walk along, albeit a little boggy in places.
I highly recommend you take a stroll.

Well done, Andy - you found it! Nice pics too. The green duckweed seems to appear in late spring : it wasn't there at the end of March (but then neither was the sunshine).
