Bluebells

This time of the year, the wood just across from me at the top of Bisham hill, near Pinkneys Green is ablaze with bluebells, and being quite new to photography I thought I would have a go at snapping them.

After reading up a bit every one seems to agree that they are very hard to capture in pixels and having now tried I would like to agree. It seems that the wood has a very green hue all round which conflicts with trying to capture the blueness of the bells (Some say blue and green should never be seen...) Also, making composition decisions is a real challenge. There are pools of bluebells amoungst tree trunks, fallen branches etc and I found myself wandering around a lot, trying this angle and then that angle and in the end I think that you have to find something else to 'balance' the composition hence using the dreaded leading pathway or also more interestingly some pretty substantial knotty trunks.

Any way, I recommend you give it a try, its a satisfying challenge.

Each image here has a different border, just a little experimentation in photoshop just to see if it enhances the image. I guess most would say less is more but I do like to play around from time to time. Experimentation is a good way to learn I guess.
