Major Fire at Budgens Supermarket in Shifford Crescent Maidenhead late Tuesday evening (7 Aug 2007)

I live 3 minutes walk from the supermarket and had been out that evening. On returning home about 11.45pm I drove past Budgens and saw the fire and fire engines there. I returned home, collected a camera and walked back to the shops and took a number of photographs. I left about 1.30pm when the fire brigade had nearly put the fire out.

I sent some by e-mail that evening to the Maidenhead Advertiser. Unfortunately I was too late and they printed someone else's pctures! However one of the pictures (4th along) was used on the front cover of the Maidenhead Express (10th Aug edition).
