Castle Combe Motor Racing Circuit
On 14th August 2011, 8 members spent the day at Castle Combe Circuit in Wiltshire to practice their motorsport photography. We were blessed with great weather (Thanks to Ed for organizing that as usual) and perhaps more importantly great racing. I think it is fair to say that anyone who hasn't been to this circuit will be very surprised at just how close to the racing you can get, compared to some of the other circuits. There is also very little wire fencing to get in the way of your view, which makes it ideal for photographers. We started taking photos at 9-30 am and didn't stop until 5-30pm, so you could say we had a full and busy day, during which many memory cards were filled up.
The sound of roaring engines, squealing of tyres, alongside the smell of burnt fuel in the air, can be a very addictive mix, so if you haven't been to see some live motorsport, then I recommend you do so, soon. Just remember to take your camera along with you.
