Summer Walk Around Cliveden, 31 May 2005
On Tuesday 31st May 2005, a large crowd gathered in the car park at Cliveden. Less than ten minutes drive out of Maidenhead, Cliveden is an extensive site well managed by the National Trust. It includes woodland walks, riverside views, all sorts of formal gardens and the infamous house, currently run as an exclusive hotel.
We were blessed with favourable weather and were excellently guided around the site by Derek Hillier, the head gardener (who also happens to be a member of MCC).
A big thank you to Derek for his knowledgeable tour and the hospitality which we enjoyed (a real bonus). A trip thorugh the hotel to the roof top will be fondly remembered by all.
What follows, I hope, is a growing gallery of images taken at Cliveden by club members.
