Competitions
Camera Clubs have traditionally run competitions for their members, and among groups of clubs, and most still do. They are
fun and provide an incentive to study the work of others, to learn and so to do better. The analysis and assessment provided by judges can be a valuable source of self-improvement too.
Maidenhead Camera Club runs three main groups of competitions each season, two ‘open subject’ series for prints and projected images respectively, and annual competitions for various subjects and genres. The high scoring images are presented on this web site as
Competition Images and the
Competition Results are added as each season progresses. There are hundreds of good pictures in here!
All paid-up members may enter the Club competitions . There are
Competition Rules and guidelines to help with choosing the right entry class, submitting entries and preparing high scoring print images for the web site.
There is a 'thumbnail' index to the current year's Projected Image entries - but be warned, it contains fairly large files and will work better for broadband users. If you want to think about requests for
Second Innings following the AGM then
this is where to look
We also take part in
external competitions mainly under the auspices of CACC
The Chilterns Association of Camera Clubs and have recently become involved with the inter-club competitions hosted by DSLR User Magazine.
For 2010 we will once again enter the
DSLR User magazine 'Battle of the Clubs' competition but we will also host our own internal
2010 Club Challenge
competition along the same lines.
