Annual Themed Competition (FOOD) 2009-2010 : How to enter
x
In the Season 2009-2010 there will be an Annual Themed Competition as an on-line event. It will all work very much like previous seasons’ Annual Competitions on-line, which have been well supported.
The subject will be FOOD in all its aspects.
There may be
up to two entries per photographer, not to have been entered in any previous Maidenhead Camera Club Annual Competition.
There will be a

new method of judging and scoring,
on line, and open to all registered members. Non-e-linked members are included, but will need to get technical help from committee members and others to take part.
How to enter:
Images should conform to the standard Projected Images 1400 wide by 1050 by 100 ppi sRGB framework so we can show them on the XEED projector at the AGM or whenever; the format is just the same as for Annual Competition Projected Images: name1 name2-FOOD-Title title etc.
Send your entries by e-mail from
9th March to 8th April to the competition secretary (JA this time round at
jh.ashford@lenscap.zen.co.uk -

please remove the lenscap before sending

), or hand them over on a USB memory stick or CD;
For non-e members we can accept files on USB memory stick or CD;
The competition secretary will check formats and review any really wild or (on-line) embarrassing content; entries will be acknowledged by e-mail except for non-e-mail members.
Presentation:
There will be a display of the images - like a DSLRU Competition and anonymous - on Steve Mundy's web site [address to be added when it gets sorted] where the entries will be presented for viewing and for scoring by members.
All images will be shown as a gallery and rescaled to a longest dimension of 650 px at jpg 35% just as in Competition Images
The order of presentation will be random, and
a reference number, only will be shown until judging is complete (official policy!)
Judging:
The competition will be judged by registered members of Maidenhead Camera Club voting on line as in the current DSLRU Competitions.
The pictures will be shown with reference numbers only; voting will take place using the ‘star’ rating system which seems to be working fine for the monthly competitions;
An explanatory e-mail about voting will be sent to all connected members nearer the time;
Each member will be allowed to vote once, on-line, for the rating of each picture, though you can go back and adjust your vote;
Voting closes on 26th April.
Votes will be counted and the winner / runners up / commended will be identified and kept secret. (There will be an independent audit of the count and result, somehow, done by someone we trust !! who did not enter a picture.)
Results will be shown (with titles & authors) at the AGM on 18th May, and will also go to Competition Images / Annual Themed - FOOD 2009-10.
Prize: The Thames Trophy . . .
