How to put two photos and some text into a single print (see example at the end)
Open the main photo in your Editor. PS Elements was used in this example, but CS would be very similar.
If you have more than just a background layer, first flatten the image (Layer > Flatten Image).
Go to Image > Resize > Canvas Size. The panel shown below will open.
Set the units to Percent, then change the height to 125 or 130. Press the up arrow (highlighted) to make the canvas expand only at the bottom of the picture, and specify White as the canvas extension colour. Press OK.
Leaving your image open in the Editor, now open your secondary image. Flatten it if it’s got multiple layers. Select All, and click on Edit > Copy. (Control-A followed by Control-C is quicker, in Windows anyway).
Without leaving the Editor, navigate to your original image and paste in the secondary image using Edit > Paste or Control-V. It will appear on a new layer. In recent versions of Elements you can move and resize the image straight away by grabbing the centre or the corners. In some versions you have to use the Move tool and/or Free Transform (or Ctrl-T) to do this.
Make the secondary image smaller and drag it into the spare canvas space at the bottom.
Then click on the Text tool in the toolbox and add your text.
Flatten the image, then resize the print (Image > Resize > Image Size). Remember to untick the resample box when defining the print size, because you don’t want to change the number of pixels in the image. (Click on
ResizingImages for a quick tutorial on resizing).
Your image will be a different shape from the original, so make sure it’ll all fit on the printer paper.
