Leopards up close
I took this picture at a leopard collection that is going to close soon
What settings would have been better for this type of shot ? It was a snap shot in time and was right at the back of the enclosure and not very good light.

Having had a go at development from the RAW file (thank you George!) I think there would have been more to work on given:
- fill flash, if you were closer than 5 metres;
- push the exposure maybe 0.5 or 0.7 ev and recover the balance in Lightroom;
The basic problem is that photography uses light and animals in dark corners are a real pain - so get really close & use flash?
Impressive shot, though!

I wish I could have got a bit closer but do not think that the picture would have ended up on here thou, or me being able to take any more pictures that day either.
I like the idea of pushing the exposure and bringing it back from the raw file.
I was lazy with the picture above and that is the Jpeg that the camera recorded, as the camera was set on raw and jpeg.
John I have scanned your edit and it adds loads to the picture the blacking of the edge works really well.
You should post it on here to show the difference?
Done!
