My first reaction was "where is the sand", then I saw the rest of the title "Illuminated tunnel" to the right of the image (browser size issue).
On a more serious note, I find the basic image is well constructed, good lead in, good use of monochrome but for me there there lacks a key focus. I would like some human interest, a group intimidating lads loitering in the left tunnel. But if they were there that time of night you would probably not be taking the picture!
That's true! Thanks Mark. I saw the image through some railings and I was attracted by it straight away. I don't really know why, except it had a cold, menacing look about it. I've had it in front of me for a few weeks now and I've grown confident enough in it to put it on the website.
If you squint you'll see that it looks a bit like a character from a Wallace & Gromit film. Feathers McGraw, if I'm not mistaken.
As I have said before Rod normally mono dosn't do anyhting for me, but this one has something, not sure what but it got me looking and thinking for quite a while. My thoughts where that would it hold more interest if the picture was darker round the edges giving more of the tunnel feeling to it. and drawing you more in the end of the tunnel, as a key focus point as mark said ?
