Public events

• Cliveden by Night - 2008 on 26-30 October, 6-9 pm. NT members £5 it says; and "The National Trust welcomes amateur photography out-of-doors at its properties."

• Knowl Hill Steam Rally - sadly this long-running local attraction has stopped. There are other steam fairs though.
• Wings, Wheels, Speed & Steam at White Waltham Airfield every August
• Uffington White Horse Show - a country show with animals, old vehicles, and side-shows.
• Kite festivals - very colourful, many have free entry
  • Basingstoke Kite Festival Early June
  • Brighton Kite Festival Stanmer Park, Early July
• Balloon festivals - very colourful and spectacular events.
• Folk festivals - often include public displays of traditional customs and dances
  • Chippenham Folk Festival End of May
• Henley Royal Regatta Wednesday End of June or early July
• Didcot Railway Centre Preserved and operational steam trains. Weekends & holidays
• Maidenhead Carnival Saturday in early to mid June
• Thames Traditional Boat Rally Henley
• Open House London - vast range of buildings open up around London - mid-September each year
• Varoius outdoor events run by EventPlan - including Blasts from the Past which was held at Cliveden in earlier years but which is now held in Hampshire

• Cricklade North Meadow - excellent for fritillaries and butterflies in spring
