Maidenhead Camera Club Programme 2005-2006

All events are on Tuesdays at 7:45 p.m. and are held at Cox Green Community Centre unless otherwise noted. Newcomers are welcome to come along and sample the club for a week or so before deciding to join. Our season for 2005/06 extends from 6 September 2005 to 13 June 2006.

Oct 25 Your Photoshop Questions Answered by Glynn Grylls.
Oct 29 [Saturday] A Woodland Walk with Rod Bird. Depart Cox Green CC at 09.30. Fast becoming a MCC tradition, whatever the weather, join Rod for a friendly jaunt around a local beauty spot.
 
Nov 1 Slide Competition No. 2. Judge: Terry Coffey.
Nov 8 A Beginner's Guide to Wildlife Photography with Peter Priest.
Nov 15 Studio Night. A chance to photograph cast members in costume of Maidenhead Drama Guild's next production Snow White. Bring cameras and flashguns.
Nov 22 Print Competition No. 2. Judge: Caroline Colgate LRPS.
Nov 29 Three Clubs Slide and Print Competition. MCC v Henley PS v Stoke Poges PC, at Cox Green. MCC members come along and show your support!
 
Dec 6 The Scheimpflug Principle Explained - working with large format cameras, explained by MCCs very own Paul Franklin.
Dec 13 Annual People competition - slide and print, judged by Ted Clarke.
Dec 20 Social get together - venue and details tbc.

Jan 10 Slide competition 3. Judge - Andrew Wilson.
Jan 17 The Land of the Midnight Sun by the clubs very own Peter Noble. (Note change of date)
Jan 24 Theatrical photography with Bob Simpson (Note change of event)
Jan 31 Print Competition no 3. Judge - Alan Copeland.
 
Feb 7 "Latent Images" Developed by MCC's Rod Bird.
Feb 14 Portfolio Competition - 3 Prints or 3 Slides as a set, on a related theme. To be judged by members.
Feb 21 Annual Natural History Slide and Print Competitions, to be judged by Dr Peter Brandham.
Feb 28 Print Competition, to be judged by Ted Clarke.
 
Mar 5 (Sunday) CACC Wycombe Trophy Competition at Amersham.
Mar 7 Five Clubs Slide Competition judged by Chris Anderson. Slide competition featuring MCCs work against four other clubs. A chance to see other clubs' work, in a friendly environment.
Mar 14 "Darkroom to Digital" one MCC member's journey to pixel perfection, by Mark Russell.
Mar 16 (Thursday) Nine Clubs Slide Competition at Coopers Hill Centre, Bagshot Road, Bracknell.

Mar 28 "Birds of the West Midlands", a very welcome return to MCC by Mike Wilkes, a truly dedicated natural history photographer.
 
Apr 4 Annual Landscape Slide and Print Competitions, judged by John Chandler.
Apr 11 "Photo Journalism Around the World" with Mike Maloney. A superb opportunity to hear one of Fleet Street's greatest in full flow. Formerly of Mirror Group Newspapers, he is currently best know for his critiques and 'Live' photography events in Amateur Photographer. Takes place at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts, tickets £8.
Apr 18 Annual Pictorial Slide and Print Competititons, judged by Alan Copeland.
Apr 25 Fourth and final Slide Competition, judged by Micki Aston from Windsor PS. Let's burn those burgers!
 
May 2 "You Be the Judge", an interactive evening led by Andrew Wilson.
May 9 Print Competition 5, judged by Caroline Williams from Ealing.
May 16 "Fifteen times Five" - 15 slides in 5 minutes from 10 members, to be arranged and led by Peter Noble.
May 23 Annual General Meeting. A vitally important event in the calendar.
May 30 Annual Creative Competition, judged by Members (who hopefully picked up a few tips on May 2nd) Also includes digitally projected images.
 
Jun 6 We meet at 6.50pm for a guided walk. Starts and ends at the Dew Drop Inn, towards Hurley.
Jun 13 Summer walk, route to be arranged. A gentle stroll in good company and fine English summer weather, usually topped off with a drink and a meal somewhere.
