Road to nowhere

This picture was taken a very long time ago and is a tight crop of a larger picture. I do not know whether this has worked or not ? Would it work better as a B&W ?

I would like your comments on the picture please.

Taken in the Lake District

A nice bit of country and I'd love to be there.

The road captures our attention and we follow it up to the horizon. It ends there: there is nowhere for our eye to go. If, for instance, there were some mountains in the far distance, our brains would make a link between the road and the mountains and set us wondering about the potential journey there. It would be a more satisfying picture, with another level of complexity, and we'd get more from it. IMHO, that is!

If the picture title was shown, as in the road to nowhere does this distract from some where for the eye to lead to? Does it add something to the picture. I take on what you say Rod and it makes sense. It was taken in the Lake district and yes there is some real good landscapes up there, but only when the weather is good thou. hehe
