7th April 2010 - Bristol International Salon of Photography

Steve has 3 entries accepted for the above including an Honourable Mention for his 'Drinking Lions'. Other acceptances are 'Oxpeckers on Buffalo' and 'The Cascades'.

4th April 2010 - Guardian 'Great Outdoors' Competition

Steve made it to the final 20 of the Guardian competition with his image of Table Mountain.

10th March 2010 - Southampton International Exhibition of Photography

Steve had 2 images accepted for the above - 'Drinking Lions' and 'Hanging Around'.

23rd December 2009 - Guardian Reader Photo of the Year - Top 3 place

The Big Stuff! - Chosen as one of Dan Chung's top three in this year's Guardian Gallery. Look for frame 18 of 20, but all the rest are worth a look too. Dan Chung said: 'This shot by Steve Mundy is a classic; nothing revolutionary but it is crisp and nicely executed. The framing is good, the shutter speed for the blur perfect and the tones from the early morning are lovely. I’ve often tried to take shots like this myself, but somehow fall short. Steve has done well here.' [Put in by ja, just in case you think Steve is showing off (would he ever? ). How can we get them to mention mcc?]

Runner up in this week's competition.

3rd December 2009 - DSLR Magazine Gold Member Portfolio of the month

Splashed across pages 92-93 of Digital SLR User Magazine [Issue 39] for January 2010. Hippo, elephant & leopard on show plus a bit about how he came to shoot them.

30th November 2009 - Smethwick International Exhibition of Photography

Steve had 3 images accepted for the above. 'Drinking Lions' was his high scorer in the Nature section and his highest overall. 'The Cascades' and 'Elephant Mirror' were accepted in the Open section.

21st October 2009 - Steve wins silver at Northern Counties International Salon of Photography

Steve won a PSA silver medal for second place in the nature category of the Salon with his 'Drinking Lions'. He also had two other images accepted for the Salon - 'The Cascades' waterfall at Virginia Water and 'Dawn Patrol' for his image of a lion along the path at dawn. 20th October 2009 - Shrewsbury Open Photography Exhibition

Steve had two images accepted for the Shrewsbury Open Photography Exhibition. This time it was the 'Drinking Lions' and his shot of the White Lion Cub as seen in DSLR User magazine below.

14th October 2009 - Steve has a portfolio published in EOS Magazine

2nd October 2009 - Steve is published in DSLR User magazine & wins Guardian Competition

Further to Dave’s weekly news email of 1st October here is the article from DSLRU - with mug shot! He also reported Steve's shortlisting in this week’s Daily Telegraph photo competition but forgot to mention that it is the 3rd time he has made the shortlist in the past 4 weeks. . .

. . . and Steve has just learned that he won this month’s competition in the Guardian too! No camera this time though, only a £200 canvas print voucher. He says he thinks the left wing papers are not as generous with the prizes as the right wingers! [I think he has moved up a division and should be grateful, anyway. The day he makes the Guardian Centre Page spread (a good reason to buy the paper, incidentally) I'll be totally lost in admiration - ja]

Well done Steve - we'll keep this page going as long as you get at least one good citation a month!

Having just had a better look at the Guardian Travel Gallery, Steve had some serious competition and it's a really good win!
