Scanned but Unprinted

Rod Bird

I was convinced that over the years I'd fallen foul of every photographic pitfall known, but at Easter 2005 I discovered a new one - breaking my leg and thus being unable to climb the stairs to my darkroom. It came at an inconvenient time because through the late Spring I habitually spend long nights beneath the crepuscular ochre glow of a mono safelight, finishing my printing before the encroaching light evenings bring activity to a halt for six months. So, in desperation, I turned to my film scanner and started learning how to make it do what I want, as opposed to what it wants - a problem I seem to have with most computerised kit. For the record here are some of the results.

Next I'm going to delve into my printer and see how that really works.
