Studio Photography at TVU
Just thought I would put up some images and recommend the Thames Valley Uni course in studio photography held at the Reading campus on a Thursday evening. Starts at 6pm and goes on till 9pm and last for one term or ten weeks.
The teacher is a great guy called mike Workman and they have a large studio where you all get to open up a bowens light kit shared between two (around 20 where on my course) and you then get taught how to light still life, glass, metal and people and its all hands on, no theory.
The course costs £100 for the whole thing, includes use of the studio, the lights, backdrops etc and works out at just £10 each week.
You don't get any qualification at the end, there isn't any tests you just get some great images for your own portfolio and some willing models (i.e. each other).
If anyone wants more info, please ask me at the next meeting.
Don't forget to take your camera though. You can borrow one from the uni (A nice big digital) but best to take your own so you get help on using it.
