After some modifications...

I would welcome comments on my treatment of the image and also any other suggestions not necessarily going down the route of heavy colourisation.

The light wasn't very interesting when you took the original, so the negative/blue/cropped treatment helps a lot. It's definitely better as a horizontal.

As the judges tend to say, routinely, 'crop it' so I did. Contrast up 50% and greyscale!

It's different if not better.
