Winter Walk to Eton and Romney Lock 5th January 2008
Following the launch of the excellent Chroma exhibition and the excesses of Christmas and New Year, what better way to welcome in 2008 than with a winter walk.
Ed and Dave were our guides, and had walked the route in advance the route to check its suitability. It was plenty suitable but on the day Dave could not make it - Get well soon, Dave.
We were ably led by Ed, who kept us all motivated with lots of interesting facts about Eton High Street etc. - it is so easy just to march on and not notice these things.
The weather was distinctly chilly and I was suffering more than most. Hopefully others will now add their own text and pictures. Cheers, Michael.
Thanks Michael for setting up the page and your kind words. The weather was kind to us, yes it was chilly but we had sunshine and we didn't get wet. Thanks to all of you who came along it made the many hours (Ok minutes!) of planning worthwhile. I really enjoyed it and I think everyone else did too. I have added some of my images and John's group photo of us posing on Eton Bridge, what a lovely sight we were! I am sure there will be more images to follow, DISMAL.
